GPTB: Het Meer

I've been sitting on this one for a week now so I should probably clear it out of the cache.  Forgive the brevity but the race was fairly uneventful.

When compared to last year's race here where I had the opportunity to act as a human speed bump this year's race went a little more according to plan.  This course is a total roady course and I don't have a whole lot of punch right now so I went in with the goal of working on technique and strategy.  This year I actually had the opportunity to do that to a point.  Trebon and Wicks showed up so the race was a forgone conclusion for the rest of us.

As for me, I rode hard but probably not the smartest.  I missed a group as it went past and couldn't/didn't make the jump to stick with them.  That probably cost me three places but I was focused on a workout.  Still, I have a chance to have a good result in these smaller series so I should probably go out and give a little bit more.

In the end, I finished 12th and just barely held off Trebon from lapping me.  If you're looking for some good crash pictures look up some of the photos from this race.  One gallery can be found at Oregon Cycling Action.
