Elkhorn Stage Race-Stage 3-Crit

Ok, so maybe crits aren't the terrible monster that I originally thought they were.  Granted, they're still fast and the 4/5 mix isn't my favorite but everyone seemed to have the understanding that the primes were the only things up for grabs, no time bonuses and no points so I think that made it a little more relaxed.

Overall, the crit went well.  I got called to the line because I was sitting 4th GC so I immediately attacked off the front.  While I knew this wouldn't stick I just wanted a chance to stretch my legs.  After getting caught the race proceeded like any other crit:  sprint, sprint, sprint, dive into the corner and sprint to the next corner.  There was a pretty nasty head wind so no one was really willing to leave the shelter of the pack.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was another crit.  Nothing major to report, no crashes (one tire blowout) but no damage in the field.  Ended up grabbing a prime for $50 (yay, gas money for the trip home!) ahead of one of the Bend guys (haha, take that rich old guy).

Ok, that's it.  Big day tomorrow, supposed to be a long day in the saddle: 100+ miles with over 7k of climbing.  There's talk of cutting the stage short tomorrow if the weather is crap which could really change my strategy but wee'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings us.

Don't know the official results of the crit but maintained the same time so still 4th GC.  Also, I do have pictures from the ctir but am having a hard time getting them on here.  I'll update this when I have them.
